psAico is your AI assistant for psychological wellbeing

psAico is your AI assistant for psychological wellbeing, with a built-in way to track your mental wellbeing.

Developed by the psychology practice of Dr Michele Facci, psychologist and psychotherapist, it follows techniques, strategies and exercises drawn from cognitive behavioural therapy. psAico is not a therapist and it does not provide therapy.

The future, already here: psychology and artificial intelligence working for your wellbeing

Practical, green, always with you.

The cognitive behavioural approach

CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) is an evidence-based psychological approach, which means it is built on scientific research. It helps people recognise, understand and change unhelpful thoughts, feelings and behaviours that cause distress. If you want to read more about CBT, the NHS website explains it in plain English, and the BABCP (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies) is the lead organisation for CBT in the UK. The idea behind it is that thoughts, feelings and behaviour are closely linked. Change the way you think about a situation, and you can change how you feel and what you do.

Tracking

You can answer short questions that help you measure your wellbeing over time. Self-monitoring matters, because it builds awareness of how you feel and how you function. These features, and many others, are what makes psAico different from any other AI. It is not the usual ChatGPT: it is trained by psychologists and psychotherapists, with several features built in for your mental wellbeing.

Not a psychotherapist, but...

psAico cannot replace a psychotherapist. It is closer to a psychoeducation or self-help book, with one difference: it is not a book. It is an artificial intelligence you can talk to by chat. It listens, it follows what you say, it gets to know you and it replies, guiding you through the techniques and strategies you could also learn from books. Here it is easier, quicker and more personalised.

A subscription that works for you

You get 20 minutes free to try psAico. After that it is a monthly subscription, and you are free to cancel whenever you like. The App Store and Google Play show the exact amount in your own currency.

Always with you

Awake in the middle of the night? The day before an exam? Just been through a break-up? psAico is there whenever you want it. It offers a calm, private space and it listens without judging. The conversation flows, and the chat will surprise you.

We are green: artificial intelligence, a human heart, roots in nature

Running artificial intelligence models takes large amounts of energy and natural resources, so we keep planting trees to offset the emissions our use of AI creates. You can check the personal commitment of Dr Michele Facci, CEO and founder of psAico, on Tree-Nation.

Much more than ChatGPT: psAico is a complete system for your wellbeing

A digital hand holding a glowing book

It is made to help people take a first step towards psychological support and therapy, a bit like self-help books. But it is not a book, it is what comes after self-help books: think of it as a coach that listens to you, respects you and guides you. Agreed with your own clinician, it can also be used between sessions if you are already having therapy, or at times when you cannot speak to your therapist directly.

psAico is there at any time of day, offering a safe space to think things through and make sense of how you feel. It does not replace a health professional in any way, but it is a solid way to get closer to the evidence-based approach of CBT, cognitive behavioural therapy.

Unlike other general AI tools, psAico was designed with clinical care, shaped by the day-to-day therapeutic experience of Dr Michele Facci's psychology practice and calibrated to avoid the risk of dependence or misuse. There are clear limits on use and built-in breaks, to keep your relationship with the assistant a healthy one and to stop psAico becoming an escape route or pretend company.

psAico is built on advanced language models (GPT by OpenAI) and has been specifically instructed to help you explore how you feel, offering psychoeducation, self-help strategies and practical tools drawn from CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and its main developments, including:

  • Beck's Cognitive Therapy (CT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Schema Therapy (ST)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
  • Metacognitive Therapy (MCT)
  • Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
  • Behavioural Activation (BA)
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
  • Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT)
  • CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I)
  • CBT-E (Enhanced)
  • Parent training, CBT based

psAico does not provide emergency services, does not give advice on medication and does not comment on the choice of specific health professionals. psAico is an ethical digital resource, designed to sit alongside, and never replace, the human therapeutic relationship, supporting emotional wellbeing, independence and personal growth.
